פתרון לבעיית התקנת עדכונים - Can't make OS windows updates
במידה ולא מצליחים לבצע התקנת עדכונים למער' ההפעלה מבית windows (גרסאות XP ו/או סרבר 2003) מומלץ לבצע את הפעולות הבאות:
1. Stop the Automatic Updates Windows service
2: Delete Cache and temp files from IE and Windows\temp
3. Delete c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution folder (and all file on in)
4. Delete c:\windows\WindowsUpdate.log and/or c:\windows\Windows Update.log files
5. Restart Automatic Updates services
6. Try again

טיפול ב - Buffer Overrun Detected
לעיתים אנו נתקלים בשגיאה buffer overrun בעת הפעלת אחד ממוצרי האופיס.
זה קורה כאשר המילון מותאם אישית שלנו גדול מדי.
אם ניכנס לקובץ custom.dic נוכל לראות שם רצף של סטרינג מאוד ארוך.

הפתרון:
לרוקן את קובץ custom.dic , שנמצא בנתיב הבא:
DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS->USERNAME->APPLICATION DATA->MICROSOFT->PROOF
יש להכנס לקובץ ולמחוק את תכולתו (CTRL+A ולאחר מכן מחיקה ושמירת הקובץ).
במערכות הפעלה ויסטה ומעלה יש להכנס לתקיית users במקום DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS

- Restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
- At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER: net stop msexchangeis
- After the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service has stopped successfully, type the following command, and then press ENTER: net start msexchangeis
- Examine the Application log to verify that the database size has been set successfully. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type eventvwr, and then click OK.
- In the Event Viewer tool, click Application.
- Double-click event ID 1216 to verify that the database size has been set successfully.

1. כשמתחילים להתקרב למגבלת הגודל ( 18 גיגה במקרה של ברירת המחדל ו 75 גיגה במקסימום) יופיעו הודעות ב - EVENT LOG וכשממש נהיה קרובים למגבלה, ה - service של ה - information store לא יעלה באופן אוטומאטי ועשוי להגיע עד למצב שלא נוכל לבצע mount ל - information store
